Smashing Conference, Freiburg, Germany, September 2012

The first Smashing Conference was the second »web« conference I attended. Having talked with Vitaly Friedman and Marc Thiele at last year's »Beyond Tellerrand«, it was a no-brainer to attend the debut of Smashing Magazine's conference. I was sure that this would be another great opportunity to refill my drained batteries, to catch up with…

Webdeveloperklassenfahrt

We are delighted to bring you a new event for Web designers and developers — the smashing way. Smashing Magazine and beyond…

Make #grid.js play nicely with wraps

Fueled by Jon Tan's talk at the Beyond Tellerrand conference, I tested the hashgrid.js for my "About me" page. While trying to get the baselinegrid play along with relative values instead of the fixed pixel values, I noted a strange behaviour. I wanted the grid to work only on my wrapping element (in my case…

Gezwitscher vom 27.10.2011

# In Pirates Of The Carribean, part 4, Lou Reed will have a cameo as Jack Sparrow's mum. # the one thing that would make Lulu even more unlistenable: Will Shatner as guest shouter. #fb http://t.co/qTedcAUn # Radler is a helluva drug #fb #…

A reply to Biancas reply to Holgers reply to my reply to his post

In a reply to Holgers reply to my reply to his post, Bianca (@bkastl) writes In contrast to 20 years ago the creative potential comes from a different approach: not the lacking knowledge or lacking means to do things on the web with tech from 2019 – it would be easy to use them -…

A reply to Holgers reply to my reply to his post

In a reply to my reply to his initial post, Holger (@foobartel) writes: (…) Yet, those frameworks have allowed their sameness to creep in, default designs to be seen for how websites “should” look like today. Even though frameworks were only meant for prototyping and as a starting point to build upon, they have made…

A reply to Holger

Holger's (@foobartel) post about this year's BeyondTellerrand Düsseldorf conference and the inspiration that transpires touches on a raw nerve for me. (…) With so much sameness on the web these days, I would love to see more people dare, more creative outcomes and results, and more creative thinking, much more often. That’s myself included. (…)…

Thank you Jonas

Southpaths unite! ;-) Thanks for the repost, Jonas. (and a reminder to myself to add post images to videos), hehe. In reply to blog.voss.co

Bahnausen!
